AJ Style's Secret

AJ and Dixie

The long running AJ Styles and Dixie Carter storyline has had many twists and turns along the way and I can’t help but feeling even though “the truth” has been revealed there is more to come out of the ‘scandal’.

To recap; at first we thought that Daniels had something on Kazarian as Kaz had seemed reluctant to be around the Fallen Angel; but after AJ cockily laid out a proposition for the rematch which he had called for back in March against Daniels, after Kaz interfered in his match the week before, costing him a win, Kaz no longer looked as though he was forced to be around Daniels; he was willing to be by his side.

We all know that “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived” (Not to be confused with Greg from SLTD who is the Greatest Man Who Ever Lived due to copyright infringements), Austin Aries, wants to be a main event star and will do whatever it takes to get there and so Hulk Hogan had a proposition for him.

TNA Presents Slammiversary X

To open the show we were shown highlights from previous Slammiversary events to showcase just some of the unforgettable memories which we all have from 10 years of TNA. Highlights included Kurt Angle head-butting Samoa Joe, Abyss catching fire and Elix Skipper jumping from the top of a steel cage with a Hurricanrana. We were told that the 10 year anniversary spectacular is not just about where the company has been but where it is going. It’s not just about evolution, but revolution. Slammiversary X promises to be a landmark event.

This episode of Xplosion began with JB, Jeremy Borash, interviewing Bobby Roode on Impact Wrestling after he was forced to tap out at the hands of Sting during the tag team match which we saw on Sunday 10th June 2012. Roode dismissed his loss and said that he is “the freakin’ World Champion” and nobody can take that away from him; not Sting, Hogan, JB or anybody else, because at Slammiversary he will walk away as a Champion, just as he has done for the last seven months.

TNA Slammiversary X - Predictions

Just before I get into my predictions I would like to point out that myself and Greg from SLTD Wrestling have been posting articles on the past Slammiversary events in a countdown to tonight’s show which of course we will see here in the UK on Wednesday 13th 2012.

So here are my thoughts on what may or may not happen at Slammiversary X.

TNA Slammiversary IX

Written by: Greg Ledson

Slammiversary IX took place on June 12, 2011 at the Impact Wrestling Zone in Orlando, Florida. It was the seventh Slammiversary PPV and celebrated the nine years of TNA Wrestling.

The main event of Slammiversary IX was a little different to previous years, rather than have a King of the Mountain match (that was scrapped in 2009) or have a TNA World Heavyweight Championship match (like last year) TNA had a number one contenders match between Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle. But it is safe to say that this match had nothing to do with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

TNA Slammiversary VIII (2010)

For this year’s Slammiversary (2010) the event wasn’t named after the year but the anniversary which it marked for TNA. This wasn’t the only change which we saw either as the format of the show changed too. It also marked the first time that the Slammiversary Pay per View had forgone its trademark King of the Mountain Match, instead opting for a Singles Match for the TNA Heavyweight Championship of the World. The card featured 9 matches with 3 titles on the line.

TNA Slammiversary 2009

Written by: Greg Ledson

Slammiversary 2009 took place on June 21, 2009 at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan. It was the fifth Slammiversary in TNA history and celebrated the seventh anniversary of the promotion.

Slammiversary 2009 was very special as it was the first Slammiversary to feature two separate King of the Mountain matches. One was as always the main event of the evening for the TNA Heavyweight Championship, but also the opening match of the evening was a King of the Mountain match for the X Division Championship.

TNA Slammiversary 2008

Slammiversary 2008 had the Tagline of “Shake… Rattle… and Roll!” and took place in Southaven, Mississippi. The event marked the fourth event with the Slammiversary name and celebrated six years of TNA. This show featured seven matches with three titles on the line.

TNA Slammiversary 2007

Written by: Greg Ledson

Slammiversary 2007 was the third Slammiversary PPV in TNA’s five year history so was tagged ‘Slammiversary V’ (V meaning five), with the tag line ‘Massacre in Music City’ The show took place on June 17, at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. The PPV card was a lot more stacked than previous Slammiversary PPVs with a scheduled ten matches rather than the usual seven or eight.

TNA Slammiversary 2006

Slammiversary 2006 was held in front of a 900 strong crowd (125 up from the previous year) within the Impact! Zone in Orlando, Florida. It was the second event under the Slammiversary name and celebrated the fourth year of TNA. Featuring seven matches there were two titles on the line within the show, and this was the very first Slammiversary to feature a match in the preshow. That match was Team Canada (Eric Young and A-1) vs. The Naturals (Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens) which Team Canada won in just over 2 minutes.

TNA Slammiversary 2005

Written by Greg Ledson

With the upcoming TNA event ‘Slammiversary X’ only a few days away, I thought it would be interesting to take a look back at previous Slammiversary’s in TNA history.

The first Slammiversary PPV was held on June 19, 2005 at the TNA Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida. In case you didn’t know although this years Slammiversary is being billed as ‘Slammiversary X’ the ‘X’ meaning 10, this is not the tenth anniversary of Slammiversary it is the tenth anniversary of TNA.

TNA Hall of Fame

I think that we all probably know by now that, after 10 fantastic years, TNA has decided to start its own Hall of Fame. We will find out who the first ever inductee is when it is announced at Slammiversary X.

When the news was announced, Dixie Carter said “This 10 year milestone is an incredible achievement for TNA, in honour of that we felt it was time to begin recognizing the contributions of those who have made the greatest impact on our success."
